Without a doubt, the coronavirus pandemic put the entire society in check, taking thousands of human lives and dealing a very strong blow to the world economy. The energy sector also had the responsibility of guaranteeing a reliable supply of electricity to serve key sectors such as medical services and communications, so for all energy-related companies, and for us, that we supply the materials that they consume, our work implicitly had a very strong social responsibility, which forced us to show our agility as a company and as professionals. I believe that no strategy, even those that had been carefully planned, anticipated the situation to which the pandemic exposed us, and adapting quickly to the context has been an extraordinary challenge. I particularly look with pride that Prysmian Group managed to meet this challenge by prioritizing and focusing on workers, customers and operational continuity.

The first point of attention was the health and safety of the workers, especially those who stayed in front of the machines producing hundreds of kilometers of cable. In parallel, we had to readjust all our dynamics, firstly to stay in tune with the needs of our customers and secondly so that our commercial teams remained energized even in the distance and also to avoid disruptions in the supply chain. So, in general, I think that all of this led us to reinforce fundamental values of teamwork. In the end, when the pressure to modify the strategy and execute it quickly is high, only the teams that foster responsibility, collaboration and commitment manage to overcome the obstacles and guarantee the execution, then, I believe that today we are more efficient and we are also more human.2020 was a very challenging year due to the multidimensional impact that Covid had, and the Prysmian Chile team demonstrated its ability to operate in very complex environments and the financial figures allow us to corroborate this. In the first months of 2020 we had a contraction close to 15 percent compared to 2019, however, thanks to the monitoring mechanisms and the focus on key areas, at the end of the second half of the year we had achieved a growth of 27 percent. percent versus the first half, and we also managed to conclude 2020 by returning to pre-pandemic levels. So I can say that our long-term goals remain and are even stronger now that we have again tested our ability and speed of execution in ambiguous environments. And 2021 has continued along the same lines, that is, at this moment we are well above pre-pandemic levels.
